If you’re a worker, or have employees working with you in the workplace, health and safety is a critical issue. This course will provide you with an understanding of basic workplace health and safety regulations, enabling you to help prevent workplace accidents and injury.

This course introduces you to the essential principles of health and safety and identifies your own responsibilities and those of your employer. It also looks at common hazards and risks, how to recognise them in the workplace and control them effectively.

You’ll learn how to report accidents and incidents, the importance of first aid training, and fire safety rules and emergency procedures. In addition, you’ll understand your responsibilities as an employee and how to participate in your employer’s internal responsibility system by becoming a health and safety representative or joint health and safety committee member.

For workers in all sectors and industries, this course meets the requirements for basic occupational health and safety awareness training under O.Reg 297/13.
